This workshop will introduce you to some basic hand-sewing techniques to combat fast fashion and repair textiles. I’ll present techniques for patching holes, darning patches, and sashiko-style running stitches so you can mend your own textiles. The class is designed for all skill levels of hand-sewers. After I present techniques and samples, you’ll have ample will work on your own project, and you’ll have a chance to ask me questions throughout the session.
At the end of the workshop everyone interested in sharing their work with the group will be able to.
I encourage you to purchase mending materials at The Craft Box! They sell new fabric, fabric scraps, yarn, notions, & more.
I also encourage you to wear a face mask to help protect those vulnerable in our community from covid & other respiratory illnesses.
Please sign up in advance here. The class fee is $30 per person, and there are limited spots - act fast!
